Hi, we’re First UMC Gallup.

First United Methodist Church of Gallup has been part of the Gallup community since 1883, when our first congregation gathered for worship in a boxcar near the railroad. We were among the founding institutions of Gallup itself, formed just two years after the town was established and nearly a decade before it was officially incorporated.

In the years since, three church buildings have housed our congregation, with our current home on Redrock Drive built in 1961. The buildings have changed. The work has not. For more than 140 years, our people have gathered to worship, to learn, to serve our neighbors, and to share the love of God with the city of Gallup and the wider Diné and Zuni communities we are honored to live among.

We have been here and we are still here.

Just like Gallup itself, we are radically hospitable, guided by story, and alive with possibility.

Join us in shaping the next 140 years…
